Matthew Gossage is a director and producer of documentaries and commercials living near Washington, D.C. Matt has worked as a director, producer, editor, cinematographer, sound editor and mixer, and as a media advisor to non- profit organizations. For many years, Matt worked in commercial production in various roles, including editor and producer for clients including Walt Disney World. In 2006, Matt produced his first documentary, entitled “Hutto: America’s Family Prison”, a short film on the infamous T. Don Hutto Family Immigration Detention Center. In the past ten years, Matt has edited and produced over 100 short documentaries, including the recent documentary series “District Docs for Austin’s African American Cultural Heritage District, “Breaking Down the Box” on solitary confinement in prison, “No Sanctuary” about refugees coming to the U.S. and “Shoulder to Shoulder” on the immigrant rights movement in Texas.
